Who We Are

..

JBS Elderly Care Foundation Africa was founded in November 2020 as the outreach and charitable arm of JBS Medicare Services, then Nigeria's leading elderly healthcare provider. Today, JBS Medicare Services has evolved into JBS Gerontology Centre, Nigeria's first private hospital and specialist centre dedicated exclusively to the older age group. Our foundation exists to extend compassion and care beyond the hospital walls to reach underprivileged elderly individuals in underserved communities across Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. We believe that every older person deserves dignity, comfort, and access to the essentials of life, regardless of background or circumstance.

What we do

..

JBS Elderly Care Foundation Africa launched its flagship program, "Adopt-A-Gran," in March 2021 in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. Through this initiative, the Foundation has adopted and supported several hundred elderly individuals ("Grans") across Lagos, Ogun, and Abuja, providing them with nutritious food, clean water, basic amenities, and regular health checks. Our programs are sustained through partnerships, sponsorships, and public goodwill. We have hosted several high-impact fundraising events, including the JBS Sponsored Walk (March 2022), which brought communities together in support of vulnerable older adults. As we grow, our mission is clear to expand the Adopt-A-Gran program nationwide, deepening our impact and ensuring that no elderly person is left behind.
